Our Practice

AKANE Sleep Solutions, Inc was founded in 2008 with the goal to provide evidence-based comprehensive care in sleep medicine to central Pennsylvania.  We have established a state-of-the-art sleep diagnostic center and a sleep evaluation clinic in Lancaster, PA.  We cater to patients of all ages.  We are proud to be the only center in central Pennsylvania which has expertise in the management of pediatric sleep disorders in addition to adult sleep medicine. 

Anoop Karippot, MD is our Medical Director.  He is board-certified in Sleep Medicine (adults and pediatrics) by the American Board of Medical Specialities - ABPN ( combined examination by the boards of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Neurology) and the American Board of Sleep Medicine (D ABSM).  He is one of the few sleep physicians certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.  He is also a registered Polysomnograph Technician (RPSGT). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the President-elect of the Pennsylvania Sleep Society.  Our staff brings with it many years of experience working with both adult and pediatric patients over a broad spectrum of sleep disorders. We have specialized clinics for obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, parasomnias, restless leg syndrome, and insomnia.

We strive to achieve excellence and exceed expectations by integrating innovative modern technology with old-fashioned personalized care.  To achieve this, we have implemented a virtual paperless office with electronic medical records, practice management system, e-prescribing, and electronic patient tracking and follow-up.  Our diagnostic sleep studies will be done at a facility where patients will have a “home away from home” experience.  Individual rooms for the patient and spouse/parent with attached bathroom and basic home amenities will be provided.

Although we do offer same-day appointments when available, we encourage making appointments as far in advance as possible. Our friendly staff will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding scheduling and payment arrangements.
